Kate is one......

Ok, So I am a little late. Her birthday was actually 10 days ago now. Kate is 1 year old. I can't believe it. I can't believe how fast the year has gone, and I can't believe how unbelievably excited I am that she is getting older. Everyday brings something new. She is babbling more, and rolling around (finally) and so interested in the world around her. I just love the way that she points at things, and watches the world around her.

We had Kate's one year appointment at the doctor. We found out two things about Kate that are kind of sad and a couple of things that are really great. The things that are great is that she is growing well and she her verbal skills are right on track. She is talking and talking all of the time. The sad things are that she has chronic sinusitis. She has basically been battling a sinus infection for months. Which might explain why she hasn't been in the best mood. She is on her 3rd round of antibiotics. Hopefully this will do the trick! The other thing is that she is a little bit behind on her motor development. She doesn't really move. She has started to roll to get things but she doesn't crawl and she certainly doesn't walk. So we will start her in physical therapy on Monday! Hopefully she will be walking by this summer.......

Going to the circus!

Today we are going to the circus! Aunt Tonya gave us tickets because her dad is a Shriner. It is so hard to know how Kate will react, but hopefully she will have fun.
Sunday is our family day. Jason and I work our schedules so that we can be home with Kate as much as possible during the week. That means that I work evenings and every Saturday. It is very important that we spend Sunday together since that is really the only day we have together as a family. Some things that we love to do on Sunday include reading the paper, going out for breakfast or lunch, going for walks, going to the zoo, and just lounging around the house. Every Sunday night we go to Grammy and Grampy's house for dinner. We love this tradition and hope that it continues!

Finally I have decided to start a blog!

It is Monday, March 30th, 2009. My name is Bridget Peterson. I have decided to finally start a blog about my baby Kate (aka Katertot). My mom and my sister have been telling me to start one. I have always been a little apprehensive because I am not the best writer. But I decided that the purpose of this blog is to keep a journal of sorts for Kate. I am going to try and write about our lives weekly. So here we go.....

Fun Facts about Kate:

DOB: April 7th, 2008
Full name: Kathleen Jean Peterson (named after both her guppy and her grammy)
Mommy and daddy: Bridget and Jason Peterson
Favorite toy of the moment: her walker, she is really becoming interested in moving!
Favorite food of the moment: Sausages. She will eat breakfast sausages for every meal.
Favorite activity: She loves reading books and taking walks in her stroller.
Favorite book: if I had to pick one it would be That's Not My Dinosaur. It is a touch and feel book.
Random fact: Kate LOVES to sleep! She will take 4 hours of naps per day and sleep a full 12 hours every night.
Temperament: Kate is sensitive. She is very aware of her surroundings. She is cautious. She is a little slow to warm up. Ever since she was born I have always thought that this was not her first life. She is kind of an old soul. She is sweet and she loves to cuddle.

It has been a wild ride so far this past year with Kate coming in to our life. We can't wait to see what happens over the next year!
